Low Visibility

Low visibility at sea refers to conditions where a vessel’s ability to see other ships, navigational aids, or the coastline is significantly reduced, typically due to fog, heavy rain, mist, snow, or smoke. Such conditions can pose serious navigational hazards, requiring ships to reduce speed, sound fog signals, and rely more heavily on radar, AIS, and other electronic navigation systems to ensure safe passage and avoid collisions.
